The Mind Lab philosophy and why it develops children’s thinking skills
rc hall the youth learn, but throh play. Plato

At the heart of Mind Lab is the belief that the most effective way of learning is through an enjoyable and engaging hands-on experience and that playing games provides the perfect risk free environment for experimentation and learning. However, today's busy lifestyles and passive entertainment from computers, television and automated toys often leaves little time for our children to develop key social, emotional and thinking skills through active face to face interaction with their friends and peers.

Mind Lab uses carefully selected educational board games from around the world as a tool to engage and teach children effective thinking together with social skills and emotional intelligence. The children experience the difference that these newly learnt skills make to their game playing and then learn, and are motivated, to apply these new skills to all aspects of life itself. The Mind Lab curriculum helps children develop:

thinking skills
social skills
emotional intelligence

Most importantly, in Mind Lab children learn how to use these skills at home with their family, with their friends, in their communities and in their classes at school – building children’s’ self confidence and self esteem, helping them to improve scholastically, build better personal relationships, relate to and cooperate with others and learn how to tackle life's problems and challenges.

My daughter is quite a rigid, black and white person. Since starting Mind Lab sessions I have noticed that she is becoming more flexible and better at problem solving in the home situation - such as confrontations, with me or her sisters, and homework.

Our goal is to impart to the next generation the thinking skills as well as social and emotional intelligence skills needed to help them to become successful and happy individuals, who are well equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow, make the best of their natural talents and act responsibly towards others.
